California Push for Legal Online Gambling

As the US economy continues to struggle, states are trying to find new methods for revenue and online gambling may be one of the best options currently on the table.

Local Indian tribes and card clubs in California are working together to push for legalized online gambling, with which California would be able to capitalize on the $4 billion US online gambling market.

Both Indian Tribes and card rooms currently operate legally according to California state law, but online gambling remains off limits.  It is a known fact that awesome amounts of revenue are currently flowing out to illegal online gambling and the states current financial climate is a good catalyst for pushing legalized online casinos. It is said, legalized online poker in California would raise an estimated $250 million per year to start, eventually climbing to $625 million some ten years after the legislation has passed.

With unemployment rates at 12% in California, and high in numerous other states, it is only logical for lawmakers to come to terms with reason and finally enact the necessary laws and regulations to allow citizens of the United States the freedom they are supposed to retain, and spend their money where they see fit.
