Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker Helping Haiti

Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker are joining other top poker rooms in raising funds for the Haiti relief effort. Gaming Company Tokwiro, owner of the two sites, said they are hosting a dedicated tournament called "Play for Haiti" today, January 20.

Paul Leggett, is the Chief Operations Officer of Tokwiro, the company that owns both poker rooms had this to say:
"Along with the rest of the world, we've watched the headlines and news unfold with growing horror as the magnitude of the devastation in Haiti has been revealed. We believe we have a duty to do what we can to help raise funds and awareness for the plight of the people of Haiti, and our 'Play for Haiti' tournament is one small way we can work with our players to contribute."

If you want to take part the buyin is $5 dollars and there will be rebuys but there is a cap of 750 players. There is going to be $10,000 dollars in prizes, 1st place will win a UBOC 8 $2,600 dollar entry, 2nd place is a UBOC Championship 8 $1,050 dollar entry. Third through ninth place will win a $215 dollar buyin for a 25 seat Satellite and 10th through 15th will win a $109 entry into a 100 seat Satellite for the UBOC 8.

All of the money that is raised during the tournaments will go to the Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief Fund.
