Online Gambling, the Debate Continues

As the debate seems to become more popular in the U.S. government, it seems the majority of the citizens are either for legalized internet gambling, or they have no idea there are laws relating to it. The governor from New Hampshire, John Lynch, is expected to unveil legislation at some point this week to legalize online gambling in his state. Last week, Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo introduced a bill that will legalize two land based casinos yet criminalize internet poker. If the bill passes, Massachusetts citizens can face up to two years in prison and a maximum fine of $25,000.

Obviously, we will continue to see extreme support and extreme opposition for some time to come on both sides of the issue but the point to me is, if America is a free country, and there are numerous land based casinos across the country, how is it freedom to not have legalized online gambling?
